Alaska Breeze supplies commercial refrigeration and foodservice equipment in Canada. For the purposes of Canadian privacy law we are the organisation responsible for the personal information described here.

What we collect
We only collect personal information you choose to give us. There is no account system on this website, and you can browse the entire catalogue without providing anything.
Product enquiries and contact requests
When you send an enquiry, the form asks for:

Please do not include payment card details, banking information or other sensitive personal information in an enquiry message. We do not need it, and the form is not intended for it.
Technical information
Our web server records standard request logs, which may include your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These are used to operate and secure the site. TODO: confirm your hosting provider’s log retention period.
What we do not collect

We do not send marketing email to enquiry contacts unless you separately ask us to. If we introduce a newsletter it will be opt-in, and every message will carry an unsubscribe link.
Where your information is stored
Enquiries are stored in our own database, on servers located in Canada, and are accessible only to Alaska Breeze staff who need them to respond to you. TODO: name the hosting provider once hosting is finalised.
Who we share it with
We do not share enquiry information with third parties for their own purposes. It may be handled by service providers acting on our instructions, such as our website host and email provider. TODO: list those providers once hosting is finalised.
We may disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries that do not lead to a sale for 24 months after our last contact with you, then delete them. Where an enquiry leads to a quotation or a sale, the related business records — quotes, invoices and payment records — are kept for 7 years, as Canadian tax law requires businesses to retain financial records.
Your rights
Under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and provincial privacy laws where they apply, you may:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy
- ask us to correct anything inaccurate
- ask us to delete your enquiry
- withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions
- complain to us, and to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

Security
Enquiries are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored in a database that is not publicly accessible. Administrative access requires an individual account and password. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
Children
This website sells commercial equipment to businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

This site sets one cookie, and only to remember your privacy choice. The details are in our cookie notice.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
